Dance With My Father

This song was the title track from Luther Vandross single album that scored four Grammy Awards. The song was dedicated to Vandross’ late father and was sung by many artists including Celine Dion. This is a perfect father-daughter wedding dance song or a nice way to honor a deceased father.

Take You Out

This was the first single from Vandross self-titled 2001 album. Take You Out reached no. 26 on the US charts and was the first top 40 hit for Vandross. The chorus of the song was borrowed by the famous rapper Jay-Z  for one of his hits called Excuse Me Miss.

Think About You

This is a ballad about being unable to forget a special someone. Vandross has written the song with James Porte for his 2003 release album Dance with my Father.

If This World Were Mine

Vandross reinterpreted old songs with a lot of talent and personal contribution. This song is a 1982 duet with Cheryl Lynn and was a cover of a 1967 song performed by Marvin Gaye and Tammi Terrell. Vandross made the song a real hit, scoring a Grammy nomination.

Never Too Much

This song is taken from the album with the same name, being the first single ever released by Vandross. With its prominent bass and funky guitar beat the song remembered about the 80s disco era. Never Too Much appeared on the soundtrack for the Grand Theft Auto: Vice City video game.

If Only for One Night

Many of Luther Vandross songs entered into the category of lovemaking music. This is one of those songs, with gentle, romantic vocals and touching lyrics asking “Let me hold you tight/If only for one night.” It is a tender ballad composed by Brenda Russell and recorded on Vandross 1985 album The Night I Fell in Love.

A House Is Not a Home

This is a song that was composed by Burt Bacharach and Hal David in the 1960s. The bittersweet words and nice vocals combine perfectly with piano and strings creating a dramatic mood.
