Bouquet Toss Songs

The tradition of the bouquet toss has its origins many years ago to a time when ladies thought they will be very lucky in getting married if they get the bouquet of the bride. According to the tradition the catcher would be the next to marry after the bride.

In the past, brides were considered to bring good luck. The bouquet toss appeared as a self-defense technique because the wedding dress was hunted by all the guests, who used to tear up parts of the bride’s dress. In my opinion, this was very embarrassing. So, it’s better and more comfortable to give up a bouquet than your precious dress chosen with so much attention.

The wedding toss is considered to be very funny. A lot of single women gathering together near the bride and doing everything they can to get her wedding bouquet hoping to meet their prince in shining armor. Sometimes is very funny to see 2 or 3 girls struggling on the bouquet, but be careful, you may get a “cat fight” on your wedding day and that’s not desirable because it could jeopardize the success of your wedding reception.

Today, bridal bouquets are so sophisticated and beautiful and many brides want to keep it as a memento of their best day. With nowadays techniques, it is even possible to preserve real flower bouquets and transform it in an everlasting memory. Other brides offer their bouquet to their mothers or fathers as a thank you notice. You can also have a second bouquet special for the moment. So, the toss of the bouquet is not a must. And when they are less expecting, toss it and see who the lucky one was! It’s funnier that way.
