Chris Isaak Wedding Songs

When planning a wedding, certain things call for extra attention, especially if the bride and groom to be want to leave a good impression on their guests. The wedding reception songs are one of those things. They set the tone for the entire celebration and symbolize a couple’s love, tastes and personality.

When looking for good songs for your wedding, you may consider Christopher Joseph or Chris Isaak who is an American rock musician and actor. Throughout his musical career that started in 1985 to present days, Chris Isaak has explored the good, the bad and the ugly of love and other human feelings.

Although he tried on many styles over his career, he is famous for his rich vocal style. Isaak’s songs have a deeply sense of the consequences of good love gone badly and bad love gone well. Speaking about his best songs, they are as follows:

Wicked Game

This is a 1989 song by from Isaak’s third album Heart Shaped World. It was released as a single in 1989, but didn’t become a hit until it was featured in the David Lynch production Wild at Heart. Lee Chesnut, a radio station music director began playing it and it became a worldwide hit in January 1991. The song reached no. 6 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart. This song is a woman’s favorite, usually used as a first wedding dance. The song also has a video that became one of the most popular videos of all time.

Go Walking Down There

This is considered to be Chris Isaak’s best song. It is not one of his best known tunes, but it has an upbeat tempo and a catchy beat with amazing lyrics.

Somebody’s Cryin’

This is a Chris Isaak classic track from the album Forever Blue that includes some higher notes combined with smooth guitar work and a great beat. It feels like a happy song when you listen to its melody, but the lyrics are touching and heart-breaking.

American Boy

This song is from the album Always Got Tonight, which was also the theme track to the TV series The Chris Isaak Show featuring Chris Isaak with his band and an irreverent look towards the rock music industry. This song is a little different from other songs signed by Isaak. The lyrics are not nearly as sad, in fact, but the sound is upbeat. In the end, it is a fun song.

Two Hearts

This is a nice song that was featured in the 1993 movie True Romance, directed by Tony Scott, written by Quentin Tarantino and starring the famous actors Christian Slater and Patricia Arquette. The lyrics are very nice and tell that love is easier if shared by two hearts: “Love’s a heavy weight, give it to me don’t hesitate/ Love’s a heavy thing, too heavy for one heart to bring me your love/ Give me your love again, it’s not your fault/ One heart can never win it takes/ Two hearts, two hearts just to hold love/ Two hearts, two hearts just to hold your lo-o-o-o-o-ve.”
