Christian Wedding Songs For Second Marriages

Celebrating the second time a wedding ceremony comes with the experience from the previous, in this case being compared to a bride-to-be for the first time you can praise yourself with having the advantage of knowing already what is there to be done in regard to planning the event of your second marriage. Leaving aside the fact that the thrills are still there, the excitement of the day is felt again in a resurrection of your senses regarding this special event, you might have to decide on different aspect that with the second marriage coming can be somehow different.

As it happened to a friend of mine: when she first got married she didn’t have any religious service to be performed at her wedding celebration, though she is a Christian by faith, but with her ex being of a Muslim belief, they decided not to run a religious service after all. They had instead a marriage performed officially by the town clerk who issued the Marriage Certificate in the official note of pronouncing them husband and wife. And, that was all – I mean from religious point of view, nada! It followed indeed a party to celebrate the event and it was over. Unfortunately, soon after this everything was over, the marriage included!

Years after, my friend has finally met the love of her life (this is how she has told me back then) and deciding to get married, again!, she started to plan her wedding celebration, only that this time, with her husband-to-be a Christian, she wanted to have it ceremonially celebrated as well. That is meant to have a religious Christian service to perform the marriage itself. She told me that they had decided this, since the first one didn’t work precisely for the reason of not being married in front of an iconic divine figure and the presence of God almighty failed to show whenever she needed while being married to her ex.

In the planning of her wedding, she asked me to assist her with the selection of Christian wedding songs for the second marriages, as she knew that I had previously celebrated my sister’s wedding and had an entire list of such Christian songs. So, one day I came over to her place and with a list of some songs we sat down and auditioned till we reach the conclusions of positioning the songs in a relevant way in the atmosphere of the second wedding ceremony.

My list comprised some of the well known classics, such as Brahms: “Lo How a Rose E’er Blooming”, Pachebel with “A mighty fortress”, these two being the ones she had selected as alternative to the other I have come up with: “The Prayer” – by Celine Dion and Andrea Bocelli, “I can only imagine” – Mercy Me, “Healing rain” – by Michael W. Smith, “When God made you” – performed by New song ft. Natalie Grant, “To where you are” – by Josh Groban, and “Divine Romance” – by Phil Wickman. All of these selected Christian wedding songs for the second marriage of my friend were supposed to be presented to the reverend and together to decide which will stay and which will go in the ceremonial celebration of her second wedding.
