Facebook Christmas Spirit

With all those Christmas carols coming out of every fist store I’m starting to feel like every day should be Christmas. I mean, isn’t decorating the tree one of your favorite parts of this winter holiday? If you enjoy it as much as I do, now is the time to log on (or create) your Facebook account and play Giftreez.

In fact, it’s not quite a game, it’s an application that you have to install on your profile and it allows you to have your very own virtual Christmas tree. There is a selection of 5 different trees, all of them small, 3 of them covered with snow and the other 3 decorated with a pretty red garland. And since most of us like Christmas because we get to give gifts (and receive them), Giftreez has thought about that as well. After you invite as many friends as you can to install this application, their Christmas Giftreez will become visible in the “browse treez” tab. From there, you can visit each tree separately and vote for it. Every time you vote a tree, you get 1 point. When others vote for your tree, you get 2 points.


Here comes the best part of all, giving gifts. When you visit a friend’s tree, you have an option where you can them a gift. That gift is actually a tree decoration that you have to click and drag onto their tree. If they don’t like how you’ve positioned it, they can change the placement when they log in. With every gift you send, you have to write a message for that friend. I can be anything from a simple hello, to I love you and, of course, “Merry Christmas”. This is one of the main reasons why Giftreez exists. It’s an application that that allows you to tell your friends how you feel, in another way than sending a post card or writing a text message on the phone.

For every such decoration that you send, you will receive 10 points and if you receive a gift, that’s another 5 points. Once you have gathered 750 points, you can upgrade you tree to a medium size which means more room to receive gifts and a better looking tree. If you send and receive lots of gift and gather 1500 points, you can upgrade your tree to the biggest size. That is bound to make you one of the most popular persons in the Giftreez network.

Basically, this is how the application works. Think of it more as special way of sending messages rather than another Facebook game. Hurry up, this application is new and not many people have installed it yet. You have better chances of being number one on your network. Time to start gifting beautiful red globes, teddy bears and Christmas tree candles and gather as many points as you can. And you want to know what the best part is?
