Father/daughter Wedding Songs

According to an Irish saying sons are sons till they take themselves a wife, but daughters are daughters for all their lives and nothing is more real than this saying. You can feel it, you can see it, you agree with it; at least up to now. The wedding of your daughter which is to be celebrated in no more than three weeks has brought in your minds the memory of your son’s wedding and how much, after he got married, he got involved in his personal life, that he almost forgot about his parents’ birthdays; lucky him that his sister didn’t forget to remind him to call at least, in case he couldn’t show up with a bunch of flowers or a tiny, symbolic gift.

You have always pretended that you didn’t know about this little secret your daughter was hiding from you for fear not to upset you, and now with the planning of her wedding you have a seed implanted in your mind that she might do the same as her brother did: to get married and leave both of you in the hands of the oldness that implacably chases you from around every corner of the new day to come. As much as your daughter tries with every step she takes in her planning thing to reassure you of her steadiness, you still have that seed of doubt planted in there.

But come what may, now you have to focus in helping her with the wedding planning; what was the most complex is gone, over with it! There is the music element next on the checklist, and the decision of your daughter to hire one of her groom’s friends as their wedding DJ, somehow relieve you from another task. To be honest, this task isn’t ask much on your behalf, mostly the online wedding music pages do the work. It is only up to your daughter’s willingness to begin the search through entire pages of wedding songs appropriate to the events she envisions displaying inside her wedding festivity.

She said that her fiancé’s friend, the DJ, will be more than happy to serve their wedding reception with various songs, but he asked your daughter to provide him a list of the songs that she wants to display for the sensitive moments of the evening, as there are many brides-to-be who have some songs that are representative for their special moments unfolded in the atmosphere of the wedding party. This is how she has reached the search for father/daughter wedding songs.

In the unrolling of a wedding reception there is this moment when bride dances to her father, and both of you have agreed on it, but your daughter prefers to insert also a song to dance to together with her mom, and this is the moment that leads you to the thought that your daughter’s wedding might not have the same outcome, once the celebration is over. Maybe your daughter will remember more often about your existence and will come to visit you more often than her brother does.

This thought comforts both of you and you know at the same time that the only thing left for you to do is to wait and see what the next day will bring to you. As to the choice of father/daughter wedding song, your daughter decided to select the one that she sees as being very relevant in its lyrics depicting so emotionally the feelings lying inside her heart: “Daddy’s Hands” performed by Holly Dunn.
