Gospel wedding songs for your wedding day

Gospel is that type of music written to express a personal, spiritual or communal belief about the Christian life. The word Gospel is synonym to “good news.” The origins of gospel music go back to Southern America. Gospel music is usually sung by black people, but this is not a cliché nowadays. It was a type of music sung by African slaves in the 19th centuries.

Gospel music is considered as being founded by Thomas Dorsey in 1920s and the most famous gospel singer was Mahalia Jackson. Gospel songs follow a call-and-response singing pattern. They combine Christian lyrics with jazz, blues and ragtime rhythms. It’s like a joyful expression of faith, worship and religion.
