Love Songs for Wedding Reception

You meet a guy. You fall in love with him. You decide he is your better half. You decide to get married. You start the planning process. You get married. You go in you honey moon. You live happily ever after. But between the planning process and the “you get married” part, there is a step which should be taken in consideration: choosing the best love songs for the wedding reception.

You’ve probably been invited to other weddings and you already know which are the most important moments in a wedding party (first dance, cutting the cake, last dance etc). And you also know that you and your groom need to find some good quality songs for all these moments. Don’t worry, in case you are afraid you won’t find something for your tastes, you should know that there are so many options to choose from, you just need enough time to listen them out and decide.

I will start with some suggestions for the first dance between the groom and the bride. Because it’s such a special moment that marks the beginning of a new life together, you should choose some romantic artists like Frank Sinatra. He has a various repertory with love songs like “The Way You Look Tonight” or “Fly Me To The Moon”. If you’re not a Frank Sinatra fan, you can go for something like “It Had To Be You”, performed by Harry Connick Jr. For the cake cutting moment, I’ve selected a song called “How Sweet It Is To Be Loved By You” by James Taylor. If you want to avoid any temptation of smooshing your groom with cream, you should pick a song like “Eat It” by Weird Al because it will urge you to start eating.

For the father daughter dance you should choose a song that has an emotional meaning for you two, but if you don’t have something like that, you should go for the song that describes the best the relationship you have with your dad. A good example is “Trough The Years” by Kenny Rogers. If you want to add a country mood to your wedding, you can play some contemporary country songs like “From This Moment On” by Shania Twain and Bryan White. This song it’s also proper for the last dance moment.

If you want your reception to be joyful and you want to see al your guests dancing and having fun, you need to choose some upbeat songs like “Shout” by Dynetoones or “Everybody Have Fun” by Wang Chung. For the moment you will toss your garter, I think you should choose a hot song like “Hot Legs” by Rob Stewart. It will surly heat the atmosphere. I am sure you will have so much fun choosing the best love songs for the wedding reception that you will want your event to take place as soon as possible.
