If you ask yourself from a guest or the groom in cause posture what’s the importance and the point of the mother and son dance then you’ll find just one answer: it is about a traditionalist concept influence. Of course it is added the essence of that dance, an emotional time for both sides.

Hence, many would like to avoid this. Why? Parents cry, the songs have to be about love themed ones, common ones that you hear at almost all weddings. But from a parent perspective such aspects don’t count too much but the fact that the son will have a family of his own from now on.

And at least to please your mother you try to find a suitable mother/son wedding song. The easiest way is of course to be limited and carry less about this since you have the common songs category everybody recurs to as main source of inspiration. “The man you’ve become” is just one example.  

 




Not that they aren’t meaningful but even the contrary. Taking the example above the song mentions about a mother’s pride for the man she raised. But you have higher expectations from yourself primary and then you want to make it all in an original way as for your guests to be surprised too.

Mother/son wedding songs but from an innovative and original perspective can be anything else than the songs usually targeting the idea of a wedding, the relationship between a mother and son etc. and even excluding the love themed songs.

Within a modern influence and a doze of energy you want to be expressed out of this dance you can opt for “Just dance” by Lady Gaga featuring Colby Oldonis, “Raise your glass” by Pink or something on the same page style rhythm. But as the song has to be representative for the persons in cause I wonder if your mother will be in agreement with these ideas.
