Oldies but Goldies: 80s Wedding Songs




Choosing the music for the wedding reception is not an easy job. You need some music that fits every taste and every age. The society is continuously changing; people have more and more sophisticated tastes, but I’m sure that everybody knows the saying oldies but goldies. In this case we speak about music.

Like fashion that goes and comes back, there are also songs that will always be in fashion, no matter how old they are. They may raise on the dance floor people off all ages. Have you seen “The Wedding Singer” with Drew Barrymore and Adam Sandler? Then you probably know what I mean.





80’s have meant a revolution in the music field, big names on stage and everlasting mega hits. Michael Jackson, Whitney Houston, Madonna, Prince, Bon Jovi, Modern Talking and Europe are just some of the 80’s artists famous all over the world. Let’s see below some of the greatest hits of the 80’ that are still in trends in present days and can be heard at a wedding reception.

If you don’t want a 100% retro music wedding reception, you can sneack occassionaly some songs into the playlist. You will see that the dance floor will animate. If you browse the internet you will find plenty of retro music. Retro songs from the 80’s won’t fail at your wedding reception because everybody loves them. Teenagers will learn something about old times music and elderly guests will surely relive some happy moments in their youth.
