Il Divo or “divine male performer” in Italian is a multinational pop vocal group which was formed in 2004 by the famous Simon Cowell, music manager and reality TV star. Most of you know him from the American Idol show.

Il Divo is a group made of four male singers of different origins and countries: Carlos Marín, Spanish baritone, Urs Bühler, Swiss tenor, American tenor David Miller and French pop singer Sebastian Izambard. Simon Cowell formed this group as he wanted something different for the music industry.

The worldwide search for young singers willing to make part of Il Divo project lasted two years, but the resulted product is great. Il Divo sings in many languages such as English, Italian, Spanish and French, being named the Most Multinational UK No.1 Album Group in the 2006 edition of the Guinness Book of World Records.

Il Divo sings a lot of covers of popular classic singles such as Sinatra’s My Way, Toni Braxton’s Unbreak My Heart or Ave Maria to which they add a fresh flavor using their exceptional voices, good looks and cultural diversity, but they also have some good original songs.

This song is perfect for the mother-son dance. It is a great tribute from a son to his mother on his wedding day. Mama was their first original song ever released. The promise (La Promessa)

This is a soothing sentimental ballad recorded on Il Divo fifth album with the same name. It’s similar to another famous love song but Il Divo amazing voices give it a special depth.
