Two parts, two aims but all united into the same mission let’s say so. A wedding has on the one side the religious ceremony, the solemn time with the unity in its proper meaning and on the other side the reception party, the time to celebrate this first event. Here restrictions are less known to say so.
For each part of the wedding there are specific and appropriate choices to be made. So like if the reception party has music the main entertainment part not the same thing can be said at the religious ceremony.
Hence, here music has as aim to boost the emotions and amplify the intensity of the moments in meanings and concrete facts of what happens. As a first delimiting side for the music for the second part of the wedding and its first one it is the genre. Not event at the end of the religious ceremony any kind of music can be chosen. And if so then what songs for after the religious ceremony can be the options? First of all, the priest will have something to say too regarding this subject, as long as the religious ceremony has as location the church. The songs for after the religious ceremony should express the joy, excitement and not follow the same solemn touch and gravity as like the songs used during this event. In concrete examples, grooms can decide about the Black Eyed Peas performing “Just can’t get enough”, with the idea of this being their expression of happiness; can’t get enough of you and this day. Also, Leonard Cohen performing “Here it is” can be an accent for what this day represents for grooms.
But these may be too daring songs for the time so better to focus on Queen “We are the champions”.
