Songs For The Anniversary Waltz At A Wedding

One of the wedding celebrations I have attended to and appealed to me the most was a wedding that had another celebration included in its displaying. The 30^th anniversary of the bride’s parents of their wedding day as well. I have attended to the wedding reception not knowing what were the wedding couple planning though their wedding card had drawn some signals that a surprise was in stake for the guests. Not even the closest peers knew anything of this event; the wedding rehearsals didn’t indicate either nothing to belong to the nature of the surprise, so we were left waiting till the day of the wedding reception.




The wedding ceremony was organized in a small number of the guests, as the place of worship was not that large to hold the entire number of guests expected to attend to the reception. Therefore the celebration of the wedding reception in a large hall that had the aspect of a ball room, with those mirror glass balls rolling on the ceiling and a dim light to accompany the guests moves on the dance floor, was meant to host the surprise that we have been so mysteriously announced upon.

The reception started from the beginning with the entrance of the guests in an atmosphere of welcoming filled with the fresh beautiful presence of the flowers, the table arrangements containing a decoration that was to complement the aspect of the bride’s attire, as it was later proved by her elegant appearance stepping into the reception room holding the arm of her husband. The wedding dress was that of an ivory color with the full and rich aspect of a ball dress, the one that had the crinoline underneath as a petticoat to keep the format of the skirt in a royal type of the overall aspect of the dress.

And the way they stepped in was very elegant staged, their arrival was announced by the reception master on a silence that was suddenly set up when the sound of classical music filled the atmosphere of the cocktail hour. We were all seated and the moment the couple was coming in the rhythm of Ivanovici’s “The waves of the Danube” waltz flooded the room. Their moves on the sound of the waltz were so nicely performed that one had the feeling that they almost floated around the dance floor. I could not be more surprised to find out hat my friend actually was a very good waltz dancer.

Together with her husband they managed to perform brilliantly, without any mistake in their floating moves and not late after the waltz finished, the lights turned dimmer again for the master of ceremony to announce that the bride’s parents had their 30^th anniversary of their wedding day and they were as well invited to dance to a song for anniversary waltz at a wedding specially selected by the young couple. I saw the surprise on the parents face and I realized that they were as well taken by a huge surprise with this event.

The song that the wedding couple had chosen for the bride’s parents performance was one of the 40s music hits “The anniversary waltz” by Al Jolson and I couldn’t refrain a tear drop from falling the moment they started to dance to that song, an emotional deep dedication for the love that was still present in a couple’s heart that have outlived a 30 years period of a married life, this one being a nice choice out of the songs for anniversary waltz at a wedding celebration
