Songs From The Wedding Date

Many movies have themes related to weddings. Usually, where is love in a movie, most of the time it ends with a wedding or with the idea of a future wedding. Ok, not all the time, true. But many times at least. I can mention here My Big Fat Greek Wedding, Four Weddings and a Funeral and Wedding Crashers. The genre fit for these movies is usually comedy-romance.

Well, The Wedding Date is a movie of this kind. As IMDb writes, the tagline is Love doesn’t come cheap, along with the plot of the movie that is: Single-girl anxiety causes Kat Ellis (Messing) to hire a male escort (Mulroney) to pose as her boyfriend at her sister’s wedding. Her plan, an attempt to dump her ex-fiancé, who dumped her a couple years prior, proves to be her undoing. The main actors are Debra Messing and Dermot Mulroney, along with famous names like Amy Adams (Julie & Julia, Doubt) and Holland Taylor (Two and a Half Men, Legally Blonde). The movie was first released in France, on 16th May 2004, at Cannes Film Market.

The music was chosen by Blake Neely and the songs from The Wedding Date are:

IMDb doesn’t give all the performing artists for the songs for The Wedding Date, as you can see, but just the writers. As you can see, the soundtrack has more or less known songs, and some are old or new. Anyway, they are well chosen for this movie, because they fit the movie like a glove. Blake Neely did a good job choosing them. A pretty delightful film, with cute songs, most of which were hits at certain points of music chartboards.

If you enjoyed the movie and the songs that much, know you can buy the CD with The Wedding Date soundtrack easily from Amazon. They still have 4 in stock, new from $24.99 and 3 used from $39.99. You can also buy the DVD with the movie, because some of them offer the soundtrack too.
