Songs From The Wedding Singer

The "Wedding Singer" is a film released in 1998 that stars Adam Sandler in the role of Robbie Hart and Drew Barrymore playing Julia Sullivan, the woman who is the object of Hart's affection. The film is set in the atmosphere of the 80s and it tells the story of Barrie Hart who by profession is a wedding singer failing to follow a serious career as a singer. This is the reason that determines his girlfriend to leave him and he tries to get comfort in the arms of a friend called Julia, a waitress he had met while he was performing one night at a wedding reception.

The relationship between Julia and Robbie became a real fact when she asked him to help her planning her own wedding; due to this fact they met quite often and spend a lot of time together which kind of deepened their relation. They pass through a lot of events filled with peculiar situations, with qui-pro-quos and confusions, for in the end to realize that their love is there waiting for them to grasp at it and join together in a life where they can grow old one close to another.

songs-from-the-wedding-singerThe songs from the Wedding Singer have aroused a lot of commentaries through that they were not totally representing the years that were meant to be the setting of the movie. It was said that the music and culture of the 79-85 were wrongly presented as the music of 1985. OK, they have put too much accent on this side of the film, criticizing that a 1981 released song is not necessary object of a song as pertaining to the 85s. Yes, they got a point, but does it really matter? Why bother to find flaws in a movie that has a love story as a plot and simply connects the songs to the events that take place in the movie for the sake of emphasizing its features.

How many times haven't I watched a medieval story movie and listened as a soundtrack the tunes of rock band instruments such as bass guitar and heavy electronic sounds that I was even expecting for the voice of Bruce Dickinson to flare up among the historical images of the movie?!

But going back to our topic the songs from Wedding Singer we find songs that can make the object for wedding reception starting with: "Every little thing she does is magic" performed by Police, "You Make My Dreams" - by Hall & Oates, "Hold me now" - Thompson Twins.

"Do you really want to hurt me" performed by Boy George is a song dedicated to the steps that one takes deep into the feeling of love, and the sacrifice that one has to make while being in love since the sensation itself leads to pain whenever the beloved one is not close. Lovers have to be prepared to surrender their soul in the hands of faith that takes them to the realm of passion and celestial dream.
