Songs To Dance To For A Father And Daughter At Her Wedding

Songs are written to be listened to and to be danced to as well. They are the ones that entertain the atmosphere of parties, different celebrations or ball events. It is a fact that certain moments of a social, familial event need to be emphasized in various ways, and music is one of them. Songs are the ‘items’ to reveal the audience   a significance that flows down directly to our soul combining the physical awareness of a fact with the spiritual perceiving of it. Emotions are often included in this area of perceiving, that is why the exposed facts or events can find a reflection in the depths of our heart touching its sensible side.

When it comes to the wedding celebration, the presence of songs is overwhelming; actually a wedding can not exist without the presence of music, whether it is about ceremony and/or reception part of a wedding unfolding. Songs, be they classical (the ones preferred to be played during the ceremonials) or contemporary, enrich the atmosphere of a wedding celebration in emotional ways, as long as their lyrics express themes that are strictly related to the displayed moment of the wedding.

The wedding reception contains in its unfolding events that require the express presence of music, music which has the most flexible manner of being performed. In this respect, young couples are free to choose between hiring an experienced DJ or a band of musicians with whom together they do the appropriate selection for the relevant moments of the dinner party. These moments are most frequently and generally defined by grand entrance (the entrance of the newly wed), followed by the father and daughter dance (where father of the bride dances with her), mother and son dance (where mother of the groom dances with him) and the first dance (where the newly weds are dancing their first dance of the evening ‘officially’ opening the evening for partying).

One of these moments which is altogether emotional bringing the old memories and their long lasting effects in the soul of the audience and of the main characters to appear in the moment: father of the bride and the bride herself. The song to dance to for a father and daughter at her wedding contains lyrics that shows either the love of the daughter toward her father or the love of the father toward his daughter, but mainly the first option is preferable since the song has to define the respect and consideration a child has for his/her parent, thank you note for the good job the parent has done by raising up his child.  Such a song is reflected in the lyrics of Josh Groban’s “You raise me up”, another one being Celine Dion’s “Because you loved me” an hymn dedicated to the power of love which builds up characters, reveals the truth in a world of lies, consolidates faith in the moments of doubt, all in one, stands up in life as a moral and spiritual support.

One song that is favored by fathers as the best song to dance to for a father and daughter at her wedding is “Butterfly Kisses” – performed by Bob Carlisle, a delicate and emotional ballad of a father who departs from his daughter, handing her over to the man of her life, while memories of his daughter being the daddy’s little girl haunt him and will haunt him till the end of time.
