Let’s start with the 1920s. In the early twentieth century, love songs ranged from melodramatic to lighthearted. Dances like the Charleston, Foxtrot or Waltz were very popular that time. Even if you don’t have time to learn an entire dance routine, there are a number of vintage songs that fit to a wedding reception such as:

The song was originally performed as part of the Blackbird Revue in the year 1928. The song was covered by a lot of great artists, including Louis Armstrong, Ella Fitzgerald or Judy Garland.

Written by George and Ira Gershwin, this is a soundtrack for the Goldwyn Follies musical in 1938.
