Being selected as part of the wedding ceremony can give the friends the opportunity to show their love and the quality that makes a friendship solid: that of giving a helping hand when in need. But next to all these aspects, being a bridesmaid requires a good sense of responsibility, since there will be lots of duties to perform. Some of them are:
- dispatching the gift baskets for the guests in which letters, relevant phone numbers can be included
- attend the informal gathering where the bride is writing addresses on the wedding invitations envelopes
- plan with the other bridesmaids fun things to do at the wedding reception
- take part at wedding rehearsals
- help to plan and pay for the shower party with the other bridesmaids
- be present on the day of the wedding to confirm flower delivery times, meet and greet the ceremony officiant
After you’ve been chosen to attend the wedding ceremony as a bridesmaid you have to show to the bride that you are dependable and organized, in order for the things to run smoothly before and during the ceremony.
And music is an element the bride may have to consider together with the bridesmaids especially for the moment of walking the aisle. Without music a wedding ceremony is very short and dull, so the bride can also ask for a piece of advice regarding the music proper for the bridesmaids’ entrance previous the bride’s arrival.
The atmosphere filled with the sounds of music enhances its style and substance, and enables the bride to ‘settle’ into her ceremony before the couple takes the marriage vows.
Songs that are more appropriate to bridesmaids wedding songs are the classical ones, such as “Bridal Chorus” – Wagner, “The Bridal March” – Mendelssohn, “Ave Maria” – Schubert, “Exultate Jubilate” – Mozart, to enumerate some with religious theme or Opera – “Belle Nuit d’Amour” – Offenbach, “L’Amero” – Mozart, or tunes from musicals & movies – “Come what may”, “Love changes everything”, “Not a day goes by” etc.
