Wedding songs for daughter to father

My father was an important person in my life, during my childhood, but also during my adolescence. Now, he’s my father, he’s my best friend and he’s my mentor. Of course, I get along perfectly with my mother as well, but I still tend to believe that I’m much closer to my father than to my mother maybe because I am more alike with my father in my manner of thinkin and I also have his eyes. Between me and my father it is and always was a very tide relationship.

Even now I remember how many times he made huge efforts for accomplishing my desires or for surprising me. When I was 18 years old, during my birthday party I’ve dedicated a song to my father and he was totally emotional and overwhelmed. This is what I’d like to do during my wedding party for father and daughter dance.

I think that I won’t tell him which song I’ll choose, but I’ll surprise him with one eternal song which reminds both of us of the moments when I was just a jail-bait asking him for some piece of advice. All of those moments were truly unbelievable and I think that they made up my personality. I’m sure that many other brides-to-be are in the same situation as I am. We’d like to surprise our fathers, to highlight an ancient tradition, to print our personal touch on it and that’s why we are looking for a trick to do it. Personally, I know the trick. The same one as when I was just 18. I’ll choose a wonderful song, I’ll dedicate it to my father and it will be just me and him on the dance floor, all the other guests will feel our emotions and that magic thing that makes our relationship unique. I know that many brides-to-be were thinking about impressing their fathers with a special song, with a wedding song for daughter to father, but they dislike the idea of asking their father: “Oh…dad…what song would you like to choose for our wedding dance?”

Yes, some brides opt for this idea, but they might also like to go “incognito” as I’d like. My advice is simple: just relax and remember some melodies which have a huge meaning for you and your father, maybe you heard a certain song while you were in a trip, a melody that you know your father likes a lot. I’m talking about a symbolic melody. Personally, I know that my father likes a lot: “Don’t worry, be happy” performed by Bobby McFerrin and I think that its lyrics are very suitable for this important moment: “There is this little song I wrote/ I hope you learn it note by note/ Like good little children/ Don’t worry, be happy/ Listen to what I say/ In your life expect some trouble/ But when you worry/ You make it double/ Don’t worry, be happy”. Other wonderful wedding songs for daughter to father are: “When God Made You” by NewSong Christian; “You’re My Best Friend” performed by Queen; “Soul Of My Soul” performed by Michael Bolton; “Father And Daughter” performed by Paul Simon; “Dance With My Father” performed by Luther Vandross.
