What songs to play at a wedding?

Last week I was at a wedding with my boyfriend at a pretty neighbor. We are good friends since we were just little kids. I received with positivism and huge joy the news that she’ll get married and I said a big “Yes” to her invitation. This time I was just a guest, not a bridesmaid. But, I was happy. To be a little ironic, I didn’t invest in a new dress and also I didn’t have tasks to accomplish, so all that I did was to enjoy her wedding party (I didn’t went at ceremony) and also I noticed all the little details that made her wedding a wonderful one. When I was the bridesmaid of many of my best friends, I must admit that all my time and my attention were directed to bride and her needs, but this time I truly paid attention at what are the new trends in what regards the wedding planning and here I’m referring at decorations, bridesmaids gowns, music, menu and traditions.

Personally, I’m a critic woman, but I truly have nothing negative to say about my friend’s wedding. What I appreciate the most is that she took her time in planning the entire wedding without hiring an event planner. And because I said that I paid attention to the music played during her wedding party, in this article I’ll share with you the tips used by my friend in creating her wedding playlist. As many other brides-to-be, she was also concerned about what songs to play at a wedding. She told me that it took like one week to finish her personal playlist and give it to the Dj. (I forgot to tell you that my friend hired a Dj, but also for three hours a talented band had enjoyed the wedding atmosphere with live songs). I’d better stop in keeping you in suspense and start telling you some useful tips for creating your own compilation.

-My friend hadn’t enough time to read wedding articles or to check thousand charts with songs suitable for wedding, but she has in her own computer more than 2000 melodies. She created many folders named after the wedding parts, traditions and rituals. She also talked with her parents, her friends and some of her closer cognates about the music they’d like to listen and she included in her playlist some of their favorite songs. You also can do that in the idea of accomplishing your guest’s musical tastes.

-“Standards wedding songs to play at a wedding aren’t for me.”, my friend told me. All the melodies I’ve heard during the party have an important meaning for her and I truly agree with this idea. You must include in your wedding playlist all the songs that have a precious meaning for you, no matter the musical genres, the lyrics or the rhythm. It’s about your pleasures and at least in this day take care about your pleasures. I assure you that during such an important event, you’ll feel goose bumps each time an important melody will be played. It’s like you’ll live again all the memories from the past. Why am I saying these things? The answer is simple: in the wedding day, each bride is more sensitive and affective than usual and she’s more attentive at all she’s hearing or she’s seeing.

-The most important thing I noticed at my friend’s wedding. The naturalness will be always your secret arm of transforming your wedding in something formidable not only for you, but also for your guests. I had great time at her wedding because she cried, she laughed, she danced, she talked a lot, she toasted Champaign and made photos with each guest and also she felt the need of saying “Thank you for making a feast from our love and pure joy!” Be natural and don’t be ashamed with your personality, no matter how sensitive you may be!
